 Dog of the Week

I'm Kylo! I am a very outgoing pup who loves cuddles, I get along with just about everyone--cats, dogs, kids, and I do great in public settings. Although I can be very energetic, nothing beats a good nap in the lap of a willing human.

Cat of the week

I'm Merlin! My journey started out really rough, but despite all that I've been through, I am a really energetic and silly little guy. I like to play with my dog foster siblings and sometimes I can get a bit mischievous, read my bio to find out more.
Tails of Mana is a non-profit Foster-Based Rescue established in Ocean Beach, San Diego CA.
   Foster Based Rescue

What is Foster-Based Rescue?

Our rescue relies solely on foster volunteers to open their homes, offer their care, and train the dogs we rescue. We have no shelter system, no store front--we use word-of-mouth, social media, and public events, to garner attention for our dogs and our rescue.

What Do We Do?

Tails of Mana hopes to help dogs (and now cats!) in need, by partnering with other rescuers we are able to provide medical treatment and fostering opportunities for as many dogs as we can.

The dogs we rescue often never knew what a home was, they were most-likely found on the streets of Mexico or were strays rescued by good samaritans in Southern California, or even other states. Some are owner-surrenders or in need of a new home after their owner's passing, these dogs come from all walks of life.

How Can You Help?

  • Donations

Through the help of donations and the work of our volunteers, we can support our foster volunteers with all the supplies they need for their foster as well as the veterinary care for each animal.

  • Foster Volunteers

We are always looking for new foster volunteers that are generous enough to open up their homes and donate their love and time to helping these dogs in need. The larger our network becomes, the more animals we can rescue and support.

  • Volunteers (Dog Walking, Transportation, Social Media, etc.)

We understand fostering is not possible for everyone, volunteering to help walk our dogs, volunteering transportation for vet services and the like, or just donating and sharing our message through social media and word-of-mouth, are all extremely beneficial to our rescue and our cause.
